As a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Houston, my journey in mental health began at the age of 18. My passion to counsel those in need was instilled in me from an early age. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Houston (Go COOGS!), and later earned my Masters in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.
I had the privilege of working with the late Dr. Robert Weinberger of The Weinberger Clinic in Houston for over a decade, and I attribute much of my growth and development as a therapist to him. His mentorship and guidance hold a very special place in my heart.
Following the merger of The Weinberger Clinic with The Menninger Clinic, I worked as a member of a dynamic outpatient therapy team for five years. I then made the decision to start my own practice, l&a counseling.
Aside from my professional pursuits, I am a wife and mother, roles that I cherish dearly. The name l&a counseling is particularly meaningful to me, as it is derived from the names of my three amazing children.
I love traveling, eating great food, spending quality time with family and friends, and reading good books. I am also a strong advocate for mental health and believe in raising awareness about the importance of psychological wellbeing.
